Released in 1958, Mon Oncle is a French comedy film centred on the dreamy and rather awkward character of Mr Hulot and his touching relationship with his nephew, Gérard, against the backdrop of the emerging consumer society in France.
The poster I created for this film emphasises the childlike world in which the uncle and the child evolve, allowing the latter to escape from his rather strict parents and his over-ordered home.
The film's handwritten title refers to childhood and the writing of teachers with chalk on the blackboard.
