Published in 1957, On the Road is a largely autobiographical novel based on the travels of Kerouac and his friends across the United States in the years 1947 to 1950, a crucial period in the history of jazz.
The front cover I created for this book illustrates both the road and the music (jazz), which are at the heart of the novel. The supernatural colours refer to the drug use of the protagonists throughout the story.
